YORK, THE EXPLORER, a new folk opera we are developing in partnership with Oregon Community Foundation and The Patricia Reser Center for the Arts, tells the story of the only Black man who participated in the Corps of Discovery Expedition with Lewis & Clark.
Dance for PD® is an internationally-acclaimed program that offers research-backed dance classes for people with Parkinson’s online, in New York City, and through its network of partners and associates in more than 400 other communities in 28 countries. A program of Mark Morris Dance Group, Dance for PD® helps people with Parkinson’s around the world enjoy and benefit from specialized live and virtual dance instruction. Our values of accessibility, inclusion, compassion and artistic quality permeate everything we do. We nurture ongoing collaborations among people with Parkinson’s, care partners, dance organizations and health professionals to provide transformative, life-enhancing opportunities that celebrate creativity, community, movement and music.

HealthRHYTHMS is a research-based group drumming program developed by Remo Inc., designed to promote health and well-being. It utilizes group drumming as a tool to improve physical, mental, and emotional health. The program is rooted in the understanding of the mind-body connection in music-making and aims to provide a rhythm prescription for participants.
The Big Up Show is a program designed for middle & high school students who are interested in multimedia & music production. During Big Up Show residencies youth collaborate to produce segments for a children’s show with an emphasis on music and peace building. We offer this program as an in-school or after-school school class for public and private high school aged youth.
We partner with The Blazer’s Boys & Girls Clubs, Portland Parks & Recreation ,Oregon Education Service District, The Mayor’s Office of Youth Violence Prevention, Keen Footwear and the Mt. Hood Regulatory Commission fund and implement this project.
1 World Drumming is one of our most popular programs. 1 World Drumming program is for persons ages 8 and up who love to drum. We share rhythms and drumming techniques from Africa, South America & the Caribbean. During this fun and interactive program we explore world culture through music.
We offer this program as an in-school or after-school school class for public and private elementary, junior high and high school aged youth. We partner with Remo Drums to provide schools with drums for our residencies.
Our drumming classes are also perfect for community centers and organizations seeking team building or activities that promote authentic connection.
1 World Chorus is our signature program. More than 7,000 youth in the USA, Kenya, and Jamaica have participated in our group singing projects. We encourage at least 3 schools from different parts of the city, state, country, or world to collaborate in each of our sessions. There is a culminating event after each residency where the participating schools come together to sing in the name of peace.
1 World Chorus is for students ages 8-12 who love to sing. In this program we explore a variety of musical genres including classical, jazz, folk and popular music. We also encourage youth to understand the voice as a musical instrument by sharing basic vocal production, breathing and ear-training techniques.
